The 1st Effingham Scout HQ is set in the beautiful and spacious King George V playing fields just off the A246.
The HQ is used by our Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and the District Scout Shop. We also allow other organisations to use our facilities in return for a donation to our funds. Scouting is in many ways a family activity. In the past we have had boys of all ages enjoying scouting activities, but more recently we have opened each of the sections to girls.
The Scouts award-winning training scheme for volunteers means that adults get as much from Scouts as young people.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
